How to measure your dog's neck
To choose the right collar size, measure around your dog's neck where the collar usually sits. Measure 1-3 fingers down from the chin: one finger for Italian greyhounds, two fingers for whippets and three fingers for larger sighthounds. Because of a sighthound's anatomy it is very important that the collar sits in the right place - roughly in the top third of the neck - so that it is neither too tight nor loose enough for the head to slip out.
Use a soft tailor's tape and wrap it around the neck so it lies naturally without pressing.
Compare the measurement with the sizes below and choose the one that fits best. If your dog is between two sizes, we recommend the larger one.
Measure in the top third of the neck, closer to the head. A sighthound's neck widens toward the chest and the head is narrow, so a measurement taken too low gives a collar that is too big and can slip over the head.
Wide collars
For whippets and other medium-sized dogs:
wide part 5 cm across and 18 cm long, strap 2 cm wide.
- M - for a neck of 25-28 cm
- L - for a neck of 28-33 cm
Fishtail
- XS - for a neck of 16-21 cm
- S - for a neck of 21-25 cm
- M - for a neck of 25-28 cm
- L - for a neck of 28-33 cm
- XL - for a neck of 33-40 cm
- XXL - for a neck of 40-46 cm
